MANAWATU A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
The usual monthly meeting of the General Committco of tho Manawatu A. and P. Association was held yesterday. Mr 11. Akers (president) was in tho chair and there was a full attendance. A list of donations towards the show was road and a hearty voto of thanks was passed to the donors. Mr S. R. Lancaster brought up tho question of the site allotted for the Breeders' Club on the Showgrounds. It was suggested that instead of being close up to Cuba street, the building should be put back 24 feet from tho street, and tho proposal was adopted. Tho president reported the rosults of the canvassing committee's efforts to obtain donations and trophies. Tho amounts donated totalled £1405 3s 6d, .which was a record except at tho Patriotic Show. Mr T. R. Hodder spoke eulogistically of the work done by tho committco, and . especially that of the president. Ho was satisfied "that Mr Akers had put more vim into tho work than had over boon the caso before, and a hearty voto of thanks was passed to the presidont and tho committoc. Mr Akers, in roplying to the voto, gavo credit to tho secretary (Mr Penny) for the manner in which he had kept him up to his work, and also to the other members of the committee who wero responsible for tho satisfactory result. Attention was drawn to the fact that a mistake had been made, in tho advance cataloguo in fixing tho height of the pomes for the jumping events ut 14 hands whoreas the correct height was 14 hands 2 inches It was decided to advertise tho fact that the official height would bo 14,8.
