THE INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC.
CASES IN NEW ZEALAND.
.Per Pres* Association.] WELLINGTON, April 22. Tho Minister of Public Health to-day supplied figures for the notifications of influenza during the days from April 14th to I7th. In all 38 cases wore notified. In the Aucldand district there were 14 cases, all mild, except one gastric cose at Ohura. In the Wellington health district there were 18 cases—two at Eltham, both epidemic typo; 6 in Wellington city (4 severe and 2 mild), 3 in Pahiatua (two mild and one pneumonic). All tho other cases in tho district were mild. In the Canterbury district there were 5 cases, 2 of them shipping cases at Lyttelton, both pneumonic, from, the steamer Koromiko. ■ ... In Otago there was one mild epidemic case in tho Vincent hospital district. PROTEST AGAINST EMBARGO. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association.
MELBOURNE. April 22. Mr W. A. Watt, Acting Federal Prime A:finistor, announces that the Federal Government is protesting vigorously against the Now Zealand embargo on passenger traffic from Australia.
QUARANTINE RESTRICTIONS.
