SUED FOR A DIVORCE.

Australian-New Zealand Cable Association BERNE, April 17. The Grand Duchcss_ Anastasia of Mechlen-burg-Schwcrin, replying to a report that the German Crown Prince intends applying for a divorce, lias sent a statement to the Swiss newspapers to the effect that her daughter has commenced divorce proceedings against the Crown Prince and will bo able to prove numerous infidelities, atrocious brutality and the grossest cruelty', including blows by which her faco was disfigured. The Princess has long desired a divorce, but the Hohenzollcrns dissuaded her owing to the scandal that wovdd follow. Once the Princess fled from home owing to the Prince’s cruelty and was arrested at the Swiss frontier and taken back to Berlin like (a common criminal.
