CALEDONIAN SPORTS.

The attendance improved in the afternoon at the annual sports gathering of the Mannwatu and West Coast Caledonian Society yesterday, but the keen wind which blew across the ground made matters most unpleasant, especially for the dancers, of whom there were representatives from as far south as Mataura, from which place the muchbemedalled Miss May Thorn hails, and she again added to her laurels. Tho music of tho Wanganui Pipe Band lent proper colour to tho proceedings, and the skirl of the pipes throughout the day was very much in evidence. The various events in the sports programme were well contested, numerous entries being received in the primary school events. Following arc the results of the events:—
