WHAT WILL AMOUNT BE? MELBOURNE, March 28. It is understood that Mr Watt, Acting Prime Minister and Treasurer, will shortly be called upon to fix the amount of the next war loan. Although inquiries at the Federal Treasury to-day elicited the information that no steps were being taken at present to make the necessary arrangements, 'city financiers estimate 'that the public will be asked to sxibscribe £30,000,000 some time later than July.
