The Hon W. D. S. Mac Donald, Minister for Agriculture, passed through Palmers* ton on his way to Wellington this morning. t Mr Hercules Davidson, until a few year 3 ago chief accountant to the New. Zealand Railway Department, died in Christchurch it few days ago. Mr John Mitchell, a well-known resident of the Shannon district, where he has been engaged in farming operations for somo time past, died tin's morning after a lengthy lillncss, aged 61 years. ' Sapper Thomas O'Connell, of Christchurch, who died on the hospital ship Maheno recently, was the youngest son of Mr and Mrs T O'Connell, and a brother of the Rov Father John. O'Connell. , On Sunday the Rot William Baumbcr, formerly of the Wesley Church, Wellington, celebrated tho 40th anniversary of his association with tho Durham street Wesleyan Church, Christchurch.
