Hopping’s 25-guinea challenge cup for Friesians, and the N.Z. Friesian Association’s gold medal for Friesians; Mrs J. 11. Matthews’ 10-guinea challenge cup for milking Shorthorns; Mr S. R. Lancaster’s challenge trophy, valued at five guineas, for dairy cattle; the stock buyers’ challenge cup (valued at six guineas) for fat sheep and lambs; Messrs Sims, Cooper and Co.’s 10-guinea challenge cup for fat lambs; Mr G. E. Allen’s 8-guinea challenge cup, and Mr J. Livingstone’s 5-guinca challenge cup for sheep farmers’ classes; W. B. and G. E. Allen’s 10-guinea challenge trophy, Mr G, J. J. Buchanan’s trophy, and T. W. Filing, ham’s 5-guinea challenge cup, all for Romneys; Lincoln Breeders’ challenge cup, and Mr D. Macdonald’s 5-guinea challenge cup for Lincolns; the N.Z. Sheep Breeders’ Association’s gold medal for Southdowns, and W. Howard Booth’s 10-guinea, challenge cup for Southdowns. There arc also special prizes for farmers’ classes, a host of valuable prizes for the dog division, a handsome challenge cup for most points in the home industries section, while the dairy factories are catered for by the inclusion of two 10-guinea- challenge cups, presented by district factories, for the best export butter and export dices,, exhibits. The date for closing entries is Wednesday, 29th January.
