This week’s story from llio Front; In peace time ho had been noted as the smartest soldier in his company and even now, in time of war, ho did his host to live np to his reputation. Despite his youthful looks he had been “out” since Mons, so that when a sergeant newly arrived in the trenches, struck by his spick-and-span appearance turned to him and asked, “Is this your baptism of fire?” bis wrath was great. “Baptism he hanged 1” lie said scornfully; “it’s my bloomin’ golden wedding!”
