SWALLOWED THE BADGE.
XIAN'S STRANGE ACT, Intlividnals have been known to swallow their principles, it i.s not so often one hears of a ntan swallowing a badge which is supposed to denote his principles. Vet this happened in Sydney (In' other day, when a man appeared its "prisoner’s Iricnd lor a German charged before a military tribunal. A military otlieer associated with the trial noticed the IX'.'A. badge in Hie lapel of this mans coat. He pointed out io him that under a AVar Precautions Act regulation he was committing itn offence. ( "Well, what do yon propose to do: imittired the offender. "1 think,” Wits Lite reply, "that the offence will ho met. it f eonhseate the badge.” ’'Right,” was the I'l-sponsr. -And the offender took the badge out of k)s coat, and jus I as the officer thought it was going to he handed to him, instead it went into the man’s mouth and was promptly .swallowed.
