DEFENCE EXPENDITURE COMMISSION.

Expenditure Commission to report on allegations of overlapping between the Recruiting Branch, the Government Statistician's Office, and the Base Records Office commenced its inquiries to-day. As the matter is regarded as ono of examination ol office routine and methods, the press were not admitted.
