[The Economy Parrv referred to is composed of men who wore formerly supporters of Sir Alexander Peacock', but who split with him over the ever-increasing expenditure of the State, which, they contended, must ho drastically curtailed. Sir Alexander Peacock's failure to recognise the position was responsible for the formation of the Economy Party, which, with Sir A. Peacock's supporters, forms the National Party spoken of in yesterday's. cables.]
