There are now three Russias—tlw north half dominated by Lenin, the middle;, including Moscow, where (he Maximalists aro fighting the followers of Kerensky and Korniloff, and tho south, including Kiefl", in ..the Ukraine, whero Kaledin and the Cossacks are supreme. _ LONDON, Nov. 19. The Daily Chronicle's Petrograd correspondent, reports on Sunday night that a largo forc<s was approaching Petrogra-d, its purpose being unknown. Another large force was approaching Moscow. THE FIGHTING AT MOSCOW. MASSACRES BY THE RED GUARDS. HISTORIC BUILDINGS DESTROYED. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. . LONDON, Nov. 18. Tho Daily Chronide's Petrograd oorrespondent reports that the fighting at Moscow began on the 10th arid'lasted a week. The Committee of Public Safety, consisting of the City Council arid other organisations, .controlled a.force 0f.'3000/pupils and officers of the training schools, and a hastily organised Kocly of students, • with maxims and three held guns. Most of: the -garrison troops, numbering 100,000, remained in the barracks and dirl not participate in the fighting. Some .departed from the city, and about 15,000 support the Bolsheviks" Red Guards, who were composed mainly of youths. The Bolsheviks, with lifteim field guns, kept up a continuous bombarchnent of the cent re of the city, killing peaceful citizens in their homes. The Bolsheviks seized Kremlin, but were oxpellcod by tVie- Public Safety troops. The Bolsheviks tlievi recaptured it, and were again expelled. The killed and wounded by Wednesday last numbered 3000, mostly civilians. The corpses lay for days in the loorways and stVairs. The population were ifraid to leave'their homes, and were untble to get provisions. The bombardment destroyed the Cathedra] of the Assumption and set fire to the Church'-of-St. Basil. This destruction is a national shame which even Napoleon avoided, 'and has-horrified both sides in the present struggle, and has resulted in negotiations for peace. It, is now reported that 20,000 Cossacks are. advancing on Moscow. WELTER OF BLOOD AT MOSCOW. PETROGRAD, Nov. 19. The losses in the Moscow fighting are between 8000 and 10,000. The revolutionaries are victorious.
