Received November 19, 2.15 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 18. _ An Italian official message says: Wo completely broke up four attacks of extreme violence in the direction of Zorno, eastward of Gallio, and recaptured the advanced elements in the direction of Casemameleeteadavonite. The enemy pressure between Brenta and the Piavc is increasing. Wo, after fierce resistance, and brilliant counter-attacks, effected an ordcrlv withdrawal of some advanced positions, and completely swept the enemy front the fagaro zone. We repulsed an attack upon Zcnson, further driving back tin; enemy to the river loop, and frustrated attempts to cross the river elsewhere. \\ e, prisonered on Friday and Saturday, on Urn right bank of the Piavc 1253. THE FIGHTING IN HELIGOLAND BIGHT. Received November 19. 2.25 p.m. COPENHAGEN, Nov. 18. The naval cannonade was heard for two hours. The concussion broke windows in the coastal towns. A NEW COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF. Received November 19. 2.15 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 18. A wireless Russian official message says a notification signed by Dukhonin, issued in Petrograd, states that he has temporarily assumed the post of Commander-iii-Chief. Orders have been given for tho stoppage of further troops going to 1 etrograd. and only transports connected with military operations are permitted. AUSTRO-GERMAN PRESSURE AGAINST ITALY. ENEMY SHOWS SIGNS OF EXHAUSTION. Received November 19, 2.25 p.m. ROME, Nov. 18. Although the enemy pressure is great, tho Italian resistance is'devrloping violently. The enemy’s sacrifices are enormous, and ho shows signs of exhaustion. TURKS STILL RETREATING. Australian-New Zealand Gable Association. Received November 19, 2.30 p.m. LONDON. Nov. 18. A Palestine official message says: Tho Australian and New Zealand inounteds on Saturday occupied Jaffa without opposition. . . , . The enemy appears to be continuing his retreat northwards. FIGHTING IN RUSSIA. STATEMENT BY A SWEDE. Received November 19, 2.25 p.m. COPENHAGEN, Nov. 18. Edstrocn, president of a Swedish elcctrio company, who has returned from Petrograd, saw nothing of tho bloody fighting chronicled by foreign newspapers. Tho military schools wore certainly damaged, but he' heard nothing of the reported cruelties to the women’s battalion. Tho Bolsheviks have maintained excellent order. The Berliner Tageblatt’s Vienna correspondent says Lenin and Kerensky nave effected a compromise which is essentially favourable to Lenin. The Russian troops in Finland favour it Finnish revolution.

DR. TRUBY KING'S MISSION. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. Received November 19. 11-25 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 13. Lord Plunkct., in an article contributed to the Wceklv Despatch entitled, “How to Save Fiftv Thousand Lives Yearly,” states that Dr. Truby Kin?, the founder of the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children, has been granted leave by the Dominion, and is due in England in February, to help on the infant welfare movement, whereof Lord Plunkct 0 chairman. A baby’s hospital is being started outside of London, similar to Dr. Truby King’s.
