FALL FROM A TRAMCAR.
(Peb Peehh Association.) AUCKLAND. Nov. 19. A discharged soldier named James S. Jackson, who returned from the war a few weeks ago, fell oil the - platform of a tram car on Saturday night. Ho rolled under one of the wheels, and the car had to ho lifted before In- could be released. lie was conveyed to the hospital, where his left leg was amputated at the thigh. Jackson also sustained other injuries, and is believed to !»• also injured internally. Previously to enlisting he was employed as seaman in the inter colonial trade.
