(Fbom Oub Own Cobbespondent.) The Bishop of Wellington (Dr. Sprott) held :i confirmation service hi SI. Mary's Church on Friday evening, when ton candidates wore presented by Rev. Mr Tye and confirmed by the Bishop. The Bishop preached an eloquent and impressive sermon, taking as his text St. Luke, 16th chapter, 10th verse: Ho that is faithful in that which i- least, is faithful also in .much! find he that is unjust in the least it unjust also in much. Mrs J. 11. Bummer has received word that her husband, who is wounded and in hospital in England, is progressing favourably. Private Geo. Lovelock, who is with the victorious Palestine forces, writes that “All’s well," and wishes to be remembered to his friends. Messrs Craven and Brewer, who. bare been iti business here for the past eight years, relinquish operations on the expiration of their lease at the end of the present month. It will seem strange to local folk, aa there has been a Mr Craven, either father or son, in business here for thirty years. Mr J. Egan has disposed of his /Caere dairy farm to Mr A. Flowers.
