Mr G. W. Ilean one time of Feilding, will shortly leave on an extended tour through Great Britain and America. Mrs W. 11. McLean, of Feilding, has received a cable message from her husband, Capt. McLean, M.C., stating lliat he is well.

News has been received by Mrs J. Doreeu, of Palmerston North, that her son, Private Jack Doreen, has been admitted to a hospital in France, suffering from trench feet. Mr W. W. Weston, of Russell street, has received information from tho Base Records oflice that his son, Trooper W. N. Weston, has been transferred from Brockenhurst Military Hospital to the convalescent depot at Hornchurch.

At the inquest this morning the district coroner, Mr Kenrick, S.M., expressed his sincere sympathy and the sympathy of the Court with the mother and lather of the late Francis Villars, who, the coroner said, was just on tho eve of his 15th birthday.

Mr Barnieoat, manager, in presenting Mr Addison with a case of pipes, referred to his many good qualities and his courtesy to the public during his five years' sojourn in Palmerston North. Mr Addison feelingly responded. Mr Addison will be missed in tennis and golf circles.
