The winner was applauded and was" popular. Bui the various promoters fell that earn and every baby ought to have been a! the top. And many ainongnl the promoters of the winner would have liked lo have ,-eeii the baby of the man at the front take lir.M. pla.ee. The historv of the competition has'been a mi-prise. 'Baby Molveo for a long time had no support, and rested in solitude at ■ tho foot of the ladder— a kind of Robinson Crusoe with no man Friday. A foot-jiruu appeared—tho foot-prim of Miss Githa l.tusscl. who came to the rescue, bringing her attractive personality and energy to the rescue. Her appeal to the flaxmillcrs. (laxmill workers and. tho public caused Babv Mcivee io leap from the bottom to the top in one act, and except lor a slight falter .alter winning tho Glaxo Cup, he kept, the j.lace of honour to tho last. The result again proves thai you never know tho winner till the numbers are up. This snndidate carried a lot of money, and so has done his little bit. His winnings are now invested in his own name in War certificates. So he is in his small way helping to will the wa/v.
