Whole streets are witb'out glass. The. majority of the killed were scattered about the streets unaware that the aeroplanes wore German. The Mayor was warned half an ! hour previously, but decided that it ! would ho umvi.se to alarm the promenading, crowds. The linost building; at South-end, the Technical School, is destroyed. The proprietor and his family ol ten escaped. 1 A lather and his two' daughters hurryi ing to a train found themselves in the 'midst of falling; bombs. Tho fatlier turned to the right and was killed. I'he daughters tinned to the left and were unhurt. A tramway conductor removed with his passengers towards shelter, when a bom I) fell and wrecked the ear. It was relatively the most deadly raid vet.
