HUGE SUBSCRIPTIONS TO LIBERTY LOAN. Received Mat 4 7, 9.25 a.in. WASHINGTON, May 6. The British Commissioners visited the House of Representatives. Mr Balfour, in a. speech, eulogised America’s entrance into the war to assist and overthrow the Ger-
man design to dominate civilisation. lie received a great ovation. Mr Balfour subsequently received a Home Rule deputation urging a settlement of the question. He promised to cable the views of the deputation to London, The “Liberty Loan” subscriptions are hieing received at the rate of twenty million dollars hourly.
