The High Commissioner’s market report dated London, sth (Note: quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot), is as follows: Meat prices now higher for homekilled mutton and English lamb, owing to small supply; all descriptions of frozen meat and home-killed beef in fair supply: New Zealand mutton 84d. ewe mutton Bjd, Argentine, mutton, small supplies, lOd; New Zealand lamb lOd; Argentine lamb lid, Patagonian 15i|d; North American lamb 14,jd; Argentine chilled beef, hinds llgd. fores lOd. Butter: Market lias a firmer tone since last report ; Danish 204s to 208s, New Zealand salted 204s to. 2C6s, unsalled 204s to 208s; Australian, salted 190s to 1945. nnsalted 192* to 1965; Irish creamery 190s to 1945; Argentine, salted, 186s to 188s, unsalled 188s to 1925. Cheese: Market continues firm; Canadian, white and coloured 1625; flats, 160s; estimated Canadian and United States cheese stocks in London, Liverpool, and Bristol, 23.000 boxes, as against 74,000 at the same time last year. New Zealand diees; Port of Liverpool official figures give stock at 6700 crates. Hemp: Market quite firm. Government now considering Manila freight charges; no Manila offering; New Zealand quotations nominal, seller* ask for fair on spot £BO. Wheat: Market firm with more enquiry. Oats: Market remains firm.
