The “Hard-up Soda!” got up by Mrs Terry and Mt‘n Menvood for die heuellt ol llio Patriotic funds attracted a considerable number of Simmon residents to the Druids' Hall on Friday night. The entertainment rook the form of a social and dame. Mr Qnaivie was an ellicieiil M.C. The music was provided lay Airs Butler (piano), Mr Herbert Graham (violin) and Mr Harold Graham (cornet). There were cards for non-dancers, and all present passed a very pleasant .evening'. Supper was provided and dancing was kept up with spirit till the “wee snta’ 00r.5.” The many friends of Mr and Mrs K. J. Judd will regret to hear they have received a cable message stating that their son, Mr Leslie Judd, is lying in a London hospital seriously ill with dysentery. Mr Leslie Judd left the Dominion with the 10th contingent. Mrs Bolmnna, custodian of the public school, had the misfortune to run a needle into her arm the other day. Site was taken to the Ota hi hospital, where the needle was extracted, and it is (o be hoped she will soon he able to resume her duties.
