ROLL OF HONOUR.
In recent casualty lists was the name of Rifleman Alf. Anderson, of Shannon, who has given his life for his country. Rifleman Anderson went into camp with Lord Liverpool’s Own, this being - his third attempt to serve his country. Previous to leaving Shannon to take tip his military duties he was in the employ of Mr C, 11. Speirs, and was honoured and respected by all with whom lie cam© in con tact.. His noble death should act as an incentive to others to come forward and do (heir duty. The following front this district tire reported wounded in last night’s casualty list :—Private S. Oke (Mrs J. Oke, Palmerston North, mother): Sergt. G. Tappin (W. Tappin, Kiwitea, father): Rifleman J. A. Healey (Mrs .1, Healey, Tiakiluma); Private \V. G. Hopping (Mr G. Hopping, Feilcling, father); Private H. J. Locke (S. Locke, Taikoren, father) and Rifleman J. E. Hall (>L 11. Hall, Ratiiiotn, father). lint it hardier A. Ramsdeii who was wonn led in France recently, was a member oi ,1. Battery before leaving for the war. He joined the Main Body and went right through Gallipoli with No. 3 Battery. Sergeant F. G. McAnley who is reported wounded in. France, was in camp on the Showground in. July, 1915, as an artillery non-com mosionei 1 officer for the Bth Rein foreomenls. lie left with the ammunition column of the 7th Reinforcement?. Lieut. 11. A. Christie, who Inis been wounded in Fiance, is well-known in Palmerston North,' where lie wa-> -rationed with the Loyal New Zealand Artillerymen al taele d for instructional purposes‘to the .) Battery. Lieut. G'hrisfie went away with the Main Body as’a sergeant in the Artillery and was promoted to a commission on G. ilipoli. His. pn v ents reside, in Wellington.
