A meeting of the Manawatu Rugbv Lmon was held last night, when there were present: Messrs J. Manning (in the chair), McWilliam, Kilpatrick, Nash, Hardie and the secretary. It was decided to close, the senior competition and the present • season will conclude on Saturday next. Resolved to grant the Schools'. Association the sum of £lO towards school football. The secretary was instructed to write to the New Zealand Rugby Union re annual school grant. Letters of sympathy are to be sent to relatives of Messrs McFarlane, Martin and Nicholls. The Feilding senior team was granted permission to play Qtaki at tedding on Saturday next. The junior final for Rogers' Cup is to ; be played next Saturday between Huia , and High School on Showgrounds at 3 j P.m. Feilding juniors did not enter for }, this, competition. Feilding Technical "School win the third class shield for the i present season. I CHRISTCHUJJCH, Aug. 28. j Canterbury beat Otago by 32 to 9.
