NEW ZEALAND TO MAKE MUNITIONS.

AN IMPORTANT CONFERENCE. WELLINGTON, Aug. 30. Hon. A. M. Myers has arranged to call a conference of leading engineers throughout the Dominion with a view to discussion on the subject of manufacturing munitions. The |K>«siliility of making machine guns, rifles, explosives, etc., will he carefully considered. The conference will consist, of leading engineers and military experts, and all aspects of the subject will be discussed. It will be held at Wellington next Friday morning at 11 o'H.jck. Mr Myers will preside; So far as military supplies generally are concerned Mr Myers has now collected the necessary information to show the state of materials required in ilie manufacture and equipment, and the maximum outputs of the various factories that would deal with these matters.
