WEDDING.

A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the residence of Mr and Mi« J. 11. liollowav, Sandon Moci* on '1 uesday, January 12th, when Horace William, eldest son and Mr and Mrs J. W. Wood, Hunnvthorpe, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Pose, fourth daughter of .fir and Mrs Holloway, of mis district. The Pev. The bride, who was given away by her lather, was becomingly attired in a gown of Japanese silk, trimmed with passementerie embroidery and pearls. She wore the orthodox veil and orange blossom. and carried a lovely shower bouquet. composed of reindeer fern, white roses and lilies, the gift of Mrs Manson. She also wore a handsome ne<'k chain and pendant studded with -aquamarines and pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. Misses Phyllis and Phoebe liollowav attended as bridesmaid, each carrying pretty bouquets of choice sweet peas, and were the of handsome gold brooches set- with rubies. 31if$ Mavis Wood, only sister of* the bridegroom, attended 'as little flower girl. She received a pretty little gold brooch. The. bridegroom was stip|>orted by Mr E. S. Meßean, of Palmerston North, as best man. The ceremony was performed just outside the front verandah, and at its conclusion the bridal party and guests adjourned to a marquee erected in the garden, where they partook ol a sumptuous wedding breakfact. The most noticeable feature on the tallies was a handsome two-decker wedding cake. At 3.30 the happy couple left amidst showers oT rice, confetti and good wishes, by motor, for Htinterville to catch tHe exprcvss for Auckland, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride's travelling dress was a creme lustre coat and skirt and a creme silk blouse, the gift of her brother Tom, who is away in Egypt with the New Zealand forces, A dance was held in the hall in the evening.
