THREE SINGLE MEN LOST,

BOAT CAPSIZES ON LAKE MAIIINAPUA.

(Fn Pbkss Association.) HOKITIKA, Sept. 9. News was received here to-night that three men (all single) were drowned in the Mahinapua Lake this evening. Particulars arc meagre, but it it> understood their names are: —Waugh, Rogers, and ('. Herring. They wore all young men under 30 years. From what can be gathered, it appears that a j>arty of geven men, employees at, Manama sawmill, went across the lake, and either going or returning, met with disaster. The bodies have not yet been discovered. The police are searching.
