TWO VESSELS WRECKED IN THE ISLANDS.

The French steamer Pacifiaue, from Noumea, brought crews numbering fortytwo of the British barquentine Titania and the Russian barque Aland, which were wrecked on the coast of New Caledonia last month. The disasters were the result of the authorities extinguishing the Tho Titania while at Surprise Island lost her topmast yard, and was running for lights On trie coast owing to the war. Noumea- for repairs when she stranded on a coral reef in the darkness.
The Aland struck Neokumbri reef, while trying to make the harbour of Tehio in the early morning. Both vessels are total wrecks. All aboard escaped.
