DEFENCE TRANSFERS.
The redistribution of Group Commanders, •"ft » nd Sub-Area Sergt.-Majors in the Wellington military distriot, as approved, is as follows. Hie changes will be completed by August 20: Major H. R. Potter (P.N.), Brigads Major Infantry Brigade, transferred to Napier as Group Commander Captain J. H. Whyte (P.N.), Brigade Major Mounted Rifles Brigade, transferred to Gisborne as Area Officer and ActingBrigade Major Mounted Rifle Brigade. Chpt. P. W. Skelly (Napier), Area Group Officer, transferred to Wellington as Area Officer and Acting-Brigade Major Infantry Brigade.
Capt. H. M. W, Richardson remains at Wellington as Area Officer and Acting-Ad-jutant sth Regiment. Capt. V. A. Kelsoll (P.N.), remain* at Palmerston North m Area Officer and Act-ing-Adjutant 6th (Manawatu) Mounted Rifles. Capt. D. E. Cardale (Napier), transferred to Dannevirke as Area Officer and ActingAdjutant 9th Mounted Rifles. Capt. E. C. Dovey remains at Hawera as Airea Officer and Acting-Adjutant 2nd Mounted Rifles.
Capt. J. Bishop remains at Napier as Area Officer and Acting-Adjutant 9th H.B. Regiment. Capt. T. McCristell remains at Masterton as Area Officer and Acting-Adjutant 17th Regiment. Capt. M. Macdonnell (Hawera) transferred to New Plymouth as Area Offioer and Acting-Adjutant Uth Regiment. Captain J. H. Grover (P.N.) transferred to Wanganui as Area Offioer and ActingAdjutant 7th Regiment. Capt. C. G. Powlea (Area Group Officer) remains at Wellington, but as Group Commander.
Capt. W. C. Morrison (Area Group Officer) remains in Palmerston North, but as Group Commander.
Capt. G. W. Braddell (Area Group Offioer) remains at Maeterton, but as Group Commander.
Capt. A. C. C. Stevens (Area Group Offioer) remains at Hawera, but as Group Commander.
The following Scrgts.-Major of the permanent staff have received transfers. B. Woodhead (Palmerston North) to Wanganui; E. H. T. Kibblewhite (Hastings) to Mangaweka; L. C. Dudson (New Plymouth) to Kimbolton; S. W. B. Foster (Palmerston North) to Napier; C. 8. M&honey (Hawera) tp New Plymouth; A. A. Browne (Taumarunui) to Wellington; A. H. D'Harty (Eketahuna) to Masterton; H. F. Weichern (Lower Hutt) to Petone; G. Bodle (Manaia) to Eltham; A. J. M. Bonar (Inglewood) to Stratford; D. C. W. Cossgrove (Palmerston North) to Greytown; J. S. Thompson (Ohakune) to Taumarunui. Sergt.-Major (Warrant Officer) E. J. Browning, who has been Brigade S.M. of the Mounted Rifles Brigade, and stationed at Palmerston North, now assumes the duties of librarian, in place of Sergt.-Major Coaegrove.
