ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

A man named Duncan Mcßride, who wai employed on road construction work a few miles from Ruatiti, fell over a cliff into the river, and sustained injuries which necessitated his removal to the Taihape Hospital. He was admitted to that institution on Wednesday night, and it was found that his injuries comprised a broken leg and serious internal injuries, which latter resulted in his death next day. It appears that Mcßride was standing at the edge of the steep cliff when some of the earth gave way, which caused him to fall a distance of 60 feet into the river below. One of his comrades jumped into the river ami brought him to the bank, but considerable difficulty was experienced in getting the injured man to the railway, the journey occupying a few hours.
