A special meeting- of the Campbell street School Old Boys' Club was held last evening to consider the position of the club. Mr J. Fit! presided over:a good attendance of mem ; hew. The suspension, it was stated, entailed the lose of the game played against C. ant C. last week, which the Old Boys won by 5 goals to nil. After a fuHdisodssion, the secretary wa* ■unanimously instructed to send a letter to the Association acknowledging receipt of the notice of suspension on account of the club being unGnancial on the Association. The 'lettercontinues ae follows:—"At a specia! : meeting of the clrib to-night I was instruct ed'to forward you the following resolution passed by the club: "That the C.5.0.8 Hockey Club regret -that they were unabl< to affiliate with/the Association in the tinw specified byv the' Association, and, whilst feeling keenly the loss sustained by tlw club in having to forfeit two points, recog niseg that the action of the executive wa< justified under the circumstances, and further regrets that the club had to put th< executive in the position it was oompeller to take. I have much pleasure in forward ing herewith all fees owing by the club tc the Association, and trust that the suspension will be immediately removed*" The club is to be complimented on the sportsmanlike spirit shown in the matter No team ever likes losing a match through suspension, but the authority of the Aseocia tion must be maintained, and in so frankly recognising this, the club have taken a very commendable course.
