COLLEGE STREET SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of tlio College •tivct School Committer was held lr.«t evening. Present: Messrs T. R. Ilodder (chairman). J. ft. Gerrand, S. Sanson, J. Gleeson, A. ('. Bradficld and 11. 1.0 Grange. Apologies for absence we "e received from Rev. A. Dtuill and Messrs Carville and Cunninghame. The Headmaster (Mr D. W. Lowe) reported that the school had been open 34 hnlftlay# and closed 6 half-days. The staff had been regular in attendance. The roll number was 456. a decrease of five since I the beginning of the quarter. Fifty-one I nupila had been admitted since April 1. Tito average at tendance had been 424. 404, 416 and 404. The wet weather and c Ids had interfered with the attendance. The term examinations were now being held. Mr Wilson had been appointed to the staff vice Mr Burgpss transferred. The VVangunui Education Board notified the committee that the headmaster had been granted leave of absence to attend a meeting of the N.Z. Educational Institute.
