FROZEN MEAT. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., have received the following report, dated 7th May. from London: —During the past fortnight tliero has been a further fall in the value of mutton. It is difficult to give accurate quotations, as extremely low prices have been taken in some cases by anxious sellers. Frozen lamb continues 1o sell fairly well at unchanged prices. We are glad <:> be able to report a general improvement in the demand for fresh mutton and lamb, probably because of the lower prices. A week ago the market was flooded with supplies of chilled beef, and frozen became practically unsaleable except to contractors who required it. Prices were then, nominally, 4d for prime New Zealand hinds and for fores. There has since been a considerable recovery in chilled and some improvement in tho prices asked for frozen, but the demand for the latter is still very limited. For some time pant arrivals of mutton have been showing speculators very heavy losses on the purchase prices, 60 that iherc is a certain feeling of insecurity. Otherwise it would appear that quotation', particularly for mutton and lamb, ar« about at the bottom. WOOL. SKIN, AND HIDE SALES.
