Mr J. Bell, who was severely burned in a gaa explosion at Bell and Co'?, factory on Monday evening, is making very satisfactory progress towards recovery. Mr D. Buick, M.P., accompanied by Mrs and Miss Buick, left, for Wellington to-dav, where they will remain, except for an occasional visit, to Palmcrston, until after the Parliamentary session. The death occurred at New Plymouth this morning of Mrs R. Cunningham, aged 84. Tho deceased lady was a resident of New Plymouth since 1842, having arrived in the Timandra with her parents, the Ixneridge*. a well-known Taranaki family.— Press Association. Twenty-five shillings is the all-round end-of-the-week price for frocks at The Rendezvous, although marked from 39s 6d to 65s each. This price holds good from 3 a.m. Thursday to 9 p.m. Saturday—this week only. A window display has been made—further details to be found on page 6, where five typical gowns are described.
