There are also a number of pedigree and grade weaner heifers to be offered, and as Mrs James has decided to go in for sheepfarming, every lot will be offered without reserve. FIRST ANNUAL SALE OF PEDIGREE HOLSTEIN FRIESIAN CATTLE. On the fourth day of the Manawatu Winter Show, Mr W. I. Lovelock, of Fries-: land Park, near Palmerston North, intend* holding his first annual sale, when he will offer to the public 32 head of his registered herd of pedigree Holstein-Friesian cattle. This vendor is probably one of tho bestknown breeders in the Dominion, and has been extremely successful in all show rings throughout the North Island. The 10 pedigree cows and the 9 pedigree heifers included in the catalogue have all been pasturing with stud bulls, and the fullest particulars will be given at time of sale. The young bulls, of which,there are 3 2 year-olds, 8 20-inonths, and 2 yearlings,, show strain of the "Cliffsidc Laddie" and the "King Segis" blood, and those in. search of high quality and high record have an opportunity of filling their requirements to advantage at this! fixture. U. G. Slack and B. H. Slack and Sons, the wellknown Ayrshire breeders. The offering comprises 59 pedigree cows and heifers bred to stud bulls. 12 2to 3-year bulls. £3 weaner heifers and bulls, and also 2 stud bulls "Young Baron" and "The Count." The purebred , Berkshire being sold on account of Mr j. U. G. Slack are very choice quality, and should recommend themselves to breeders and others.
