THE BANK-NOTE COUNTERFEITER.
EVIDENCE OF HIS PARTNER. (Bx Electric Telegraph—Copyriom.) (Per Press Association.) SYDNEY, June 11. The case against the foreigner Gutsche, who was arrested last week in possession of a complete plant for printing banknotes, and who is said to be connected with the recent sensational coup in Auckland, was commenced to-day. Joseph Sharp gave evidence that six months ago he agreed to become a partner with Gutsche in a lithographic business, advancing him £25. Subsequently accused showed. Sharp an apparatus lor making notes, and told him to make plenty of money in a short time and go to another country. Sharp said that was no good to him. Accused told him to keep quiet and they would change the notes in New Zealand. Sharp still demurring Gutsche declared that the first man who came to the place he would shoot dead and himself afterwards. Sharp then gave information to the detectives. Gutsche was committed for trial.
