Easier Ploughing WITH BETTER RESULTS. 4 T a recent Waikato ploughxV ing match, a heavy spring balance was placed between plough and the toam of each competitor in turn. HTho Oliver steel ploughs registered much less draught than any others. although turning a bigger furrow. Vet. strange to say. this bigger furrow was broken to such an extent that judges said the ground would be saved one stroke of the discs in subsequent cultivation. secret lay in the Oliver's short mould'ooard, on which tho furrow lias no time to !io and but gets flopped over, burying rubbish and being broken itself. HThe old long inouldboard turns its furrows slowly, and presses it tightly, as is shown bv tho wear on enu of board. This adds to tho draught without adding to tho effectiveness of tho work. ver steel ploughs run from fifty • shillings to seven pounds, and are stocked by Holben and Kirk, of Palmerston North. % A 90-page catalogue of useful time and money-saving implements. printed on art paper and fully illustrated, is sent Sost free on request to any adrofis.
