SIR IAN HAMILTON'S VISIT.
LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS. The visit of General Sir lan Hamilton, Inspector-General of the Overseas Forces to New Zealand, is arousing considerable interest, and in connection wi£h his inspection of the. territorial force and cadets at the various centres and camps, the Defence Authorities are sparing no pains to ensure the proper keeping in order of the parade ground so that there may he no invasion of it by the general public, 6uch as was the case in one instance on> the occasion of the visit of Lord Kitchener. The authorities are consequently making complete arrangements for the general public to see the parades under the most favourable circumstances. As has been published previously, the inspection of the? Manawatu cadets will take the form of manoeuvres on the land to the west of the Fitzherbert road stretching between Monro's and Keeble's hills. During his visit to Palmereton North Sir lan Hamilton will be the guest < v f Mr Alan Strang. The Mayor intends bringing up at the next meeting of the Borough Council the matter of tendering the General a suitable civic welcome.
