KAIRANGA.
1 (From Our Own Correspondent.) j Ideal weather prevailed for the Kni- ! ranga school picnic, which was held on Friday in Mr Lancaster's paddock. The 1 chjldren's sports were got through before ; lunch, which loft the afternoon free for the , enjoyment of games, cricket, football and rounders providing amusement for the majority of those present. The distribution of the prizes. was, of course, the event of the day They were presented by Mr A. Fraser (Foxton), who gave a short bur interesting address to the scholars. Mr G. H. Bennett also gave a short address that i was followed with much interest. Mr Lan- | castor proposed a hearty vote of thanks | to Messrs Fraser and Reunctt for their at- ] tendance and addresses, hearty cheers be- , ing given for them, also for Mr Martin and the teachers. Afternoon tea was then served, after which games wire continued until 5 o'clock. A vote of thanks to Mr Lancaster for kindly placing his paddock at the committee's disposal brought ihe proceedings to a close.
