HIWINUI SCHOOL PICNIC.
The annual picnic of the Hiwinui school took place yesterday, and a most enjoyable outing resulted for both children and parents. A sports' programme was arranged and plenty of amusement for all. The arrangements were carried out. very capably by Mr F. Maule (Committee chairman), Greenhow (secretary). Bosfield (handicapper and starter), G. W. Hills (judge), and Bassett. During the gathering interesting speeches were given by Messrs F. Pirani and G. 11. Bennett (\Vanganui Education Board), and F. Mauh Every child in the school received a prize, and in addition there were prizes for the following sports winners: —
