Wood has sent a menage to us stating that he has changed h'is pans regarding his proposed removal to Svdney, and will, instead, return to Palmer ston early next year. The friends of Mrs Harvey Burr, who with her husband resided for some time in Palmerston, and who hits been in indifferent health for a considerable time, will regret to hear that she '&■ to undergo a rather serious operation in a private hospital at Hastings. Mrs Burr is the second daughter of the lat--Rev. Jas. McWilliam. who was for a number of years in charge of the mission church at Otaki. Mr W. Bowles, who has boon treasurer of the Manawatu Motor Cycle Club since its inception, tendered his resignation at last Right's meeting of the club. Occasion was tawen by the members to present him with a gold-mounted cigar holder and gold pendant as a token of the esteem in which ho is held. In making the presentation. Mr F. Stock well (president) referred to the keen interest Mr Bowks had always taken in chib matters, and of h'.-i value a* an official. Mr H. Collinson was elected to fill the position of treasurer of tho club. The mission service* are being continued at St. Paul's to-night and tomorrow night. Rev. W. Rowe being the preacher this evening.
