FOR MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.

In accordance with a decision arrived at at the last meeting of the Manawatu County Council, the engineer (Mr Kicbford) at Tuesday's meeting reported to the Council that lie had inspected th® Horowhenua Council's crusher, which put through 50 to 60 yards of metal per day with a 6 h.p. traction engine and was doing first-clas* work. Air Malcolm, the County Engineer, had expressed himself satisfied with the quality of the metal in the Ohakea trani pit and stated it could be worked the whole year round, and there was no need for the Council to hire a crusher for an experiment. Two crushers were recommended—one costing £383 and the other £420.
