MONTHLY MEETING

The monthly mooting of ti>e Manawatu County Council was held at Sandon yesterPresent: Crs. Wilson (chairman), McKcnzic, Phillips, Honson, Hunt, Gray, And Barber.

R Gardener had been appointed to represent llorowhenua, tmd asking for Mibmisbion of draft agreement.— The Council decjdid to reply tliat, as it expected a professional man to bo appointed, it objected to the apJKiintment, but would not object to a disinterested engineer of a local body. TRAMWAY MANAGER'S REPORT. The tramway manager (Mr Drew) reported as follow#:—Owing to the uxtra expenditure debit lw.ta.noe of £3U 14s 8d war. made. Tho extra items include £9l 2s 7d for coal. Owing to the. unsettled rtste of coal mine labour it is advisable to lay in a good st<>ck of Corl, nnd this ia being done. 111 calling fresh applications for tho supply of metal.
