An Irishman ami a .Tow wore discussing the great men who had belonged to each race, and r.s may bo expected into a boated argument. Finallv the Irishman .--aid :
"Ikoy. listen. For every groat Jew ye can name ye may pull out wan iv mo whiskers, and for ivory groat Irishman 1 can name I'll pull out wan iv yours. Is it a go:" Thoy confronted, and Pat reached over, got hold of a whisker, said "Robert Emmet," ami pulled. "Mosee!" said tho Jew.'and pulled one of Pat's tenderest.
"Dan O'Connell!" said Pat. and pull od another.
"Abraham!" said lkcy, helping himself again. '•Patrick Henry!" returned Pat, with a vicious yank.
"The Twelve Apostles!" said tho Jew. taking a handful of whiskers.
Pat omitted a roar oi pain, grasped the Jew's board with both hands, and veiled. "The Antfient Order of Hibernians!"
