DUCKING A REPORTER.

MINISTER OBTAINED STATEMENT. Asked by a Wellington reporter aa to whether the Government intended to take any action in regard to the clucking of a reporter in the south recently, the ActingMinister of Defence (Hon. R. H. Rhodes) stated that he was obtaining a full official report of the whole incident, and of the subsequent proceedings in the Magistrate's Court when the Territorials in question were proceeded against fo r assault. He was not in a position yet to say definitely what further action would be taken by the defence authorities.
