Lord Curzon, speaking before the Geographical Society, asked for public sub scriptions to enable the scientific results of the Scott expedition to be published on a scale never previously attempted. Lady Scott promised the Society her husband's diary after 6he had used it for the book she is presently publishing. Lord Curzon paid a high tribute to Dr. Maw-son, and said he had escaped after a display of fortitude and enduranoe almost without parellel in the history of exploration.
