The police made a smart burglar coup. A. detective saw two men enter Brodribb's, auctioneers, in George street. A third replaced the padlock and stalled away. The detective followed, arrested him, and telephoned for assistance. A, strong force of police surrounded the building, and captured the other two, who were busy forcing a large safe. , „ BRAVERY RECOGNISED. BRISBANE. May 28. Detective Head and Constable Scanlon have been promoted and awarded medals for bravery in arresting the armed burglar (as reported yesterday).
