MILKING ON SHARES.
Some information on the subject of milk ing on shares was given in a case heard a Hamilton in which a woman in poor cir cumstances sued a son for maintenance. The applicant stated that her incom* amounted to 17s per week, out of which sh< had to pay 13s for rent, leaving 4s on which she had to maintain herself and youni' daughter. Mr E. H. Northcroft, who ap peared for the defence, said he thought tin son was in an even worse position. ll< was milking oil shares in the King Country and received a third share of the nroceeds He had to pay 12 per cent, on the cost, of the milking machines, which amounted t< £3O a year, and buy the benzine, and !>} the time lie had paid these and other neces sary expenses it only left him £79 as tlu result of 16 months' work On this he hat io keep a wife and six children, the eldcs;
of whom was ten. while an addition to th< household was daily expected. Defendant in the Ik>x, said he had to sell his hors' for £2 in order to come down to the Court The applicant said she was satisfied tha' her son was not. able to pay anything, ant tho case was accordingly dismissed.
