THE MEN OF ULSTER.

.THOUSANDS DRILLING NIGHTLY. (Independent Cable Association.) LONDON, May 1. The "grim earnestness" with which the men of Ulster are preparing for all Home Rule emergencies is still in evidence. Two hundred thousand men, half of whom ar© Orangemen and the rest members of the Unionist Club are being drilled nightly in the Belfast district. All are over 17 years of age, and some are over 70. Although these military exercises are taking place at time, they are being conducted without the least attempt at anything in the way of secrecy. Seventy per cent of the volunteers arc armed with rifles, and ex-army men art gaged in drilling the forces. Route marcl ingfl and signalling are practiced regularly. The Ntional Anthem and Rule Brittania aro sung at the close of each evening'.drill.—Sydney. Sun.
