WELLINGTON PROGRAMME.

TEN DAY'S STAY IN THE

HARBOUR.

The battle cruiser New Zealand will remain in Wellington from Saturday, April 12th, to Tuesday, April 22nd. On the latter date she proceeds to Auckland, calling at Napier and Gisborne en route, and arriving at Auckland on April 29th. The man-o'-wai will remain in the Waitemata harbour till May 11th. These arrangements, which are subject to the consent of Captain Halsey. have received approval by his Excellency, Lord Liverpool. The following proposed programme of ▼isits and entertainment of the officers and men in Wellington has also beer, approved by the Governor, and will be submitted to Captain Halsey for confirmation: Saturday, April 12th— Arrival. Official visit to his Excellency the Governor. Official visit my members of the Government, City Council, and Harbour Board; Wellington Club dinner (officers). Monday, April 14th.—First visit of the Wairarapa school children; Harbour Board Ferries Co. picnic at Day's Bay; garrison officers' social in evening.

Tuesday, April 15th. —Second visit of Wairarapa school children; citizens' ball at Town Hall; visit to Wareroa State farm by special train (seamen), picnic and sportc. Wednesday, April 16th.—First visit of Manawatu school children, picnic and sportsgathering at Newton Park, arranged by citizens' reception committee.

Thursday, April 17th.—Second visit of Manawatu school children; visit to Wairarapa by special train (seamen), picnic; ball at Wellington Club. Friday, April 18th.—Luncheon at Town Hall to Captain Halsey and officers of ship by the Government. Saturdav, April 19th.—Cricket match with Wellesley Club. Sunday, April 20th.—Nothing arranged at present. Monday, April 21st. —Nothing arranged at present. Tuesday, April 22nd.—Departure,
