CHRISTMAS IN WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, Dec. 25. The holiday is passing oil' quietly wJ in glorious weather. Christmas Eve saw the city streets thronged with joyous crowds of merry-makers, and business people generally wore smiling faces. Though navigation in the streets was a matter of some difficulty, Ihe good nature prevailing among the promeiiadcrs never failed to find a safe way out of tight comers CHRISTCHURCH'S happy lot. CIIRISTCHURCII, Dec. 25. Trade in tho city this Christmas is i.n usually brisk, and retailers say business has never been better. The more solid shopping of the season opened early, and has continued to bo excellent throughout, a feature being demand for tho better class of good" of all descriptions. THE HOLIDAY IN OTAGO. DUNEDIN, Hoc 36. The weather is beautifully fine for the holiday. The principal attractions are the D..T.0. races at Wingatui, cricket at Carisbrook, and a regatta at Port Chalmers. IN SYDNEY SYDNEY, Doc. 25. The weather is line. An unusually dense and orderly Christmas crowd is in the streets.
